Trump shaken, not stirred
Ever since Trump realized he would need a $ 10 billion dollar subsidy to keep the soybean sector afloat, he has been folding up like a cheap suit.
Has Trump started to realize the destruction his flip flopping on tariffs has done ?

I applaud Trump for trying to renegotiate some of the trade deals we have...but our trade partners now know his current playbook front to back. Seems like they are now just waiting us out because they know that our mid-term elections are only a year away now. He's has to now either commit to keeping up the tariffs until we get everything we want, or just abandon them, in light of the recession we are going into.

Yup. And that playbook is one page written in crayon.
At least it seems the Chinese are agreeable to buying soy again. For how long, who knows. And will they make up for the sales the US farmers have lost, who knows.

What are the salient details of this agreement that are good?
Seemed quite limited.
And lord if he forgets to take his fiber it could be all for naught.

Your post is irrelevant.
Trump created this problem. Then he made it worse. Now he is backtracking like a madman.

farm subsidies started in 1933 under FDR when he attempted to spend his way out of the Great Depression and failed.
so tell me how Trump is responsible for this?

Trump started the tariff war. This has nothing to do with 1933.

Nope, you really don't have a clue what was going on since you only listen to Marxist Democrat news sources.

If Trump did not start the tariff war........who did ?
Without Trump there would be no tariff war.
Your posts never contain any substance.

George Washington
Many U.S. presidents have imposed tariffs, including
George Washington with the Tariff of 1789, William McKinley with the Dingley Tariff Act, Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower, who continued protectionist policies, and more recently, Donald Trump, who imposed tariffs on goods like steel and aluminum, as well as on imports from various countries. Barack Obama and George W. Bush also used tariffs, particularly on Chinese textiles and steel imports, respectively. Tariffs have been used throughout U.S. history to raise revenue, protect domestic industries, and as a tool in trade negotiations.
