Tariff revenues have been growing for months, and the latest data shows that the U.S. has collected $156.8 billion from them as of Aug. 26.

The federal government has spent $1.63 trillion more than it has collected in fiscal year (FY) 2025.

Total CY2025 tariff collection would cover less than one month of federal spending deficit.

For FY2025, the U.S. government collected $2.59 trillion in individual and corporate income taxes, accounting for about 60% of its total revenue.

The top 1 percent earned 22.4 percent of total AGI and paid 40.4 percent of all federal income taxes.

That would be $1.036 Trillion (compared to $156.8 billion total in tariffs so far)

FYI, The "One Big Beautiful Bill Act cuts are most beneficial for high-income earners.
For the top 1% the new law is projected to result in an average tax cut of over $75,000 in 2026.
