Default Question about flying to Thailand

I’m planning to travel to Thailand and I’m concerned about the flight cause I have allergy issues that affect my ears and Eustachian tubes and I haven’t flown since I was very young. Anybody that has these same issues and can share tips about managing them during flying? Recommendations for airlines would also be appreciated.

My ear specialist recommends a puff of Afrin in each nostril about 30 - 45 minutes before each landing. Problem is, it works but is addicting as hell.

Hold your breath, sit 6 feet apart, wear three face masks, get a death shot, believe in your government. Rinse and repeat.

If you're leaving from DFW your best choice is probably Cathay Pacific. They now fly nonstop from DFW to Hong Kong, and from there you can connect to your destination in Thailand. Alternate choice is Korean Air through Incheon.

Generally I prefer any Asian carrier over the domestic U.S. carriers. The top rated ones are Cathay Pacific, Singapore Air, Korean Air, JAL, and ANA. I've also had good luck with the Chinese carriers, but they probably don't work for this trip. My personal opinion: avoid American Airlines if at all possible.

For checking your flight options, and even as an agent for booking tickets, I use flychina.com They specialize in travel to China, but you can find options for most of Asia there. Website is very convenient for exploring flight options.

Edit: I see your location listed as Dubai. Emirates and Qatar Air are also highly rated, although maybe expensive, but I have no experience with them.

That's a long trip to experiment on whether you can or can not clear your ears at 30,000 feet.

I've blown out my ear drums being careless over the years and now live with a left ear ringing that sounds like a smoke alarm going off 24/7.

Go to an ENT and have him check to see if you ears need to be cleaned out and look for infections. Not a Primary Care but an ENT, if I had gone to an ENT years ago versus my PC I would not have the ear issues I have now.

I've made the trip to BKK several times from DFW and KAL offers promotions and good service as does Emirates stopping in Bahrain.

AA service on long haul flights is horrible, in flight entertainment consoles not working and handing out water as if it is being rationed.
