They think the way to make money is to get massive amounts from one person. They can't understand that their management techniques drive people away and they will never return.
I have never been in Peppermint Hippo, and never intend to go into one.
I have been in a lot of clubs around the country and many are poorly managed.
The best managed club I was in was a group of four clubs in Illinois, 2 of which were in Sauget, and the other 2 not so far away. I think it was $7 cover charge, and you got a ticket so you could visit the rest of the clubs that same day at no additional charge. I don't know what drinks cost, as I don't partake. They never made any attempt to force us to buy drinks. You could sit at whatever stage you wanted, and were free to move to another when the dancers changed. The atmosphere was relaxed. The girls were beautiful and came from all over the nation to work there. You were glad to tip them. By managing it like that, the place was full most evenings and well into the night. Didn't close until 5am. You would probably spend on a private dance, but if you didn't, there were no complaints. The largest club had 7 or 8 stages going in the evening, and most of the chairs around each stage would be filled with a customer. By not being asses, the club took in a lot of cash. The staff was polite. The restroom clean. Never saw anyone cause any problems. Everyone had a good time. I never got any extras. They were totally nude, the only rule being the girls couldn't lower their g strings below their knees. With some of the things the girls did, you were required to keep your mouth closed.
