Cory Bush, a Democratic Congresswoman who rose to prominence through participation in Black Lives Matter protests in Ferguson, Missouri, has filed a resolution seeking expulsion of over half of the Republican members of the House of Representatives, for voting against certifying the election results. She has 47 Democratic co-sponsors.

Does anyone see the irony? Her claim to fame is through BLM protests. She probably never would have proposed this resolution or gotten so many colleagues to sign on to it if not for the protest and destruction at the Capitol.

Admittedly, protests about blacks killed by police make more sense than protests about a stolen election. I say that despite my belief that the BLM movement is misguided and should be concentrating on other issues. The Stop the Steal thing is just crazy.

Sheldon Whitehouse is proposing something similar in the Senate. Apparently Whitehouse, Bush, and 47 other House Democrats want to create a one party state.

Those Republicans deliberately tried to impede the electoral process, and made up conspiratoral lies to further their nefarious agenda. Their rhetoric helped fuel the violence at the Capitol. They can all fuck themselves, as far as I'm concerned. Republicans don't care about democracy, they are only concerned with the term, in relation to keeping their House seats.

That's not the way it looks. The Republicans in question appear to mostly be concerned with supporting a delusional narcissist's autocratic tendencies. They sacrificed Senate control at the altar of Donald Trump. The Democrats are smarter and realize ejecting Republicans will solidify their hold on power.

Seriously, most of them from both parties care primarily about keeping their House seats.

I disagree. In general terms, of course retaining seats is a big concern for both parties. But this is about a specific event, an insurrection from a violent right-wing Mob, fueled by ONE party. The prosecuting Dems just won their seats, I hardly think they are projecting years out.

I doubt she supported the violence, mayhem and destruction associated with some of the marches. Same for most of the 139 Republicans who voted not to certify Pennsylvania and/or Arizona.

Bush supported the core of BLM, which conducted peaceful protests. She does not support the infiltrators, Antifa and what not, who perpetrated violence. You choose to focus on that very small group, to discount the large, peaceful movement.

Your people, Cruz, Jordan, Hawley, and the rest, fueled the Capitol uprising Personally. and even now are making excuses, calling for ''healing and unity'', now that they are exposed as criminals. These are completely different matters.

Democrats also claimed the 2016 election was stolen. They also cheered on riots. Republicans at least denounced both riots.
