I don’t do the burner phone thing anymore. Try Google voice, you can download it for free and text and call from it. I download it when I need it and delete it when I don’t. I have used it for about 5 years now and never had an issue.

You can text through google voice. IMO it really depends on what you're looking for. Do you want a burner number on your existing phone cuz google voice or 2ndline will work just fine. If you want an actual burner/"drop" phone I'd get an old flip phone and any prepaid sim for it. Then you can literally trash it in you need to. Pay cash.

I have had google voice since it was released and have had 2 providers tell me to text from a real phone....also that one agency here with tougher than normal screening wont take it...I tried - other than that no problems. I use it from a computer, then log in on phone thru internet, have to go to desktop site for it to work on phone now - I also have used the ap, you can make calls and text either way

Unless someone has references, when I run their number and it comes up as an app I won't see them. So I'd recommend having at least 2 references if you're gonna use one of those numbers

I use an app called Hushed on the APP store it is pretty much a phone in your phone. I have used it for a long time and only once ever have I been told I was using an app. It has an encryption option and is 4.95 a month unlimited call text and photo or like 1.99 for a number good for 7days and a limited number of texts and minutes.
