Default Life after death

how many of you believe that after you die there is a place for you?
how many of you believe that when you die, well you just die?
i am not sure myself. Not sure if "your spirit" goes somewhere. And if it does go somewhere then where. Do you meet up with loved ones and friends, pets....shit like that. Do you float around like clouds in the sky?
just curious

I know what I believed when I was younger.

Now that I have truly learned to think for myself....LOL, I have no freaking clue!

I hope there is a place up there with pearly gates..so I can see my grandmothers again and a good friend of mine we old schoolers so lovingly called, DragonAss.

Motorload despite what you hear, read, or have been taught your whole life...nobody knows. It's your life to live how you wish. I believe we should live it in a Christian manner. It makes the world a better place for our kids.

I agree, live and celebrate life, be a good person, pay it forward and be a good example for your children. In the end, nothing else matters.

I believe that there IS a place you go after you die. It's called the cemetery.

I do respect people who commit to what they believe in.

I am at a point in life that I'm not exactly sure what I believe....I WANT to believe that there is some"thing" that is a greater "power/influence/being" than myself and others that are around me every day.

A friend who just discovered they are Atheist has had several discussions with me about the topic of religion, as well as the general acceptance of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

It all made a lot of sense.
Which is hard to admit as a girl raised in a very strict, very religious home till I was in High School. (I pulled away at that point, as things stopped making any sense and no one could answer my questions.)

I think finding a way to treat others better than you expect to be treated...."good will" is a huge part of life. Religious or not. But I'm glad my religion taught me this and gave me tons of opportunities to practice it.

I do agree with cookie man....to live in a Christian manner - that is a huge statement and I wish more "holy rollers" would adhere to that way of thinking....sometimes they make me wish I never knew them in the first place. (meaning - back the eff off please...take care of your OWN lives...then you can come give me some "life advice". UGH)

Im going to leave out what I was really going to say here.... but I will say this: extremism in any form of religion is a bad thing.

On another note, when you die...its over... nothing there but darkness and worms. I imagine its a lot like being asleep... you have no idea whats going on but you never wake up

A lot of you guys have good points. I too was taught that there is a heaven and a hell. But, as with some of you that mind set has changed somewhat over the years. I started to read a little on near death expierences some people didnt remember anything, some that were in extreme pain recalled that when they died they felt no pain but as soon as they were revieved the pain came back. (which would make sense)
I agree with you cookie man , you should live your life in a christain manner, But if you knew that there was nothing after you die would that infuence you to be a better person. Myself, I always treat people with respect, no matter who they are. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect unitl they prove otherwise. Just they way i was brought up.

While there are similarities between the Christian religion and various others, using it as a defining guide leaves out those who believe otherwise. They account for approximately eighty percent of the people on earth.
