Flash back. I've got some pics she sent me of her and her dog on a 3-1/2" disc somewhere. Does that tell ya how long ago it was? Tried like hell to get her to come visit with me and the wife but she didn't "Do" couples. Instead she put us in contact with some gals that did. Remember her calling into a sport talk radio (she was a sports nut). And either this deputy or the sheriff himself called in and they traded jabs about how he was "gonna get ya" and she just laughed it off.

Haven't read the article yet, but will do so. I lost out on my one shot to see her sometime in the late 90s. I had scheduled an early flight back to DFW and had planned to see her once I landed. Wouldn't you know it, my flight was cancelled and I missed the appointment. This was before hobby phones and Internet at your fingertips. It was my one and only NCNS, although I did reach out to her as soon as I got to a computer to explain what happened. She never responded.

Such is life. It likely wouldn't have ranked in my Top 5 experiences, but it would have been nice to say I had met the legend.
