True. Although I think it is a small percentage that do this.
There are just as many "non-hobby" businesses that will also charge a fee for last minute cancellations, keep deposits, etc....
As difficult as it may be to understand.... Providing is a Business. And many providers conduct/manage their business in the same way you would manage yours. As long as the client, regardless of the nature of the business, knows in advance that there is a cancellation fee, it is your choice to accept the conditions given. There are things in life that are simply not fair. Such is life.
