Hobby Cash Management
So my SO has taken over our finances, so it is making it harder for me to "hobby" :> I can't just take a cash withdrawal anymore like I did before. I am able to pilfer about 20-30 every 2 weeks by just saying "I need it for work to buy drinks and such", but this is getting me no where fast. I haven't "hobbied" in a bout 3 months now...
So my question is, are others in this situation? How do you extract the extra cash? Or is like I'm doing the best way there is? I can't direct deposit to another account or write a check, since everything is being "watched" now
I was thinking of Paypal or something like that, but even that shows up on the checking accounts page. No credit cards either. I've thought about grocery store cash back, but even this shows up as a cash withdrawal now on the accounts page.
Anyway, any help will be appreciated. Like if someone knows a store that allows cash backs but doesn't show up on the bank account...something like that would be helpful.

That's funny. I was in a situation like that. I told her it was not working out. She stuck around. I was willing to end the relationship though. I believe i am the one that gets to decide where and how I spend the money I earn. But that's just me. I never ask her or anyone for anything.
Maybe you can do some kind of side work for cash. Unless this is your only hobby.
Or you can get all elaborate establish an llc, open bank account under llc, be your own customer and buy from yourself then withdraw funds from your llc account That she does not know you own. Make sure it is something you can relate to your current life's style so when you buy things it doesn't seem odd. Give it a generic name. Idk. Just tell her you need tob set aside money for a hobby that you have.

If you buy things at many stores (home depot is one) on a debit card, you can return it for cash. Just do a project around the house, but some tool you don't need "for the project" and return it for cash. She's happy cuz your lazy ass fixed up the house, you get to hobby, everyone is a winner.

Yeah, I need to figure out some sort of hobby or side job I can blame it on. Bad thing is i have to have something tangible so I can blame it on that lol And something i have to use cash for and not debit card...I was thinking of blaming it on CC security reasons...like with all of those skimmers in the news that are out there now. and that i need to carry around cash from now on :> and then just skim off of that.... hmmm, damn, i think that may work decently hahaha
i'll need to get my facts straight, but that might do it Because right everything is bought through debit card. but if i get cash all the time i can easily pocket more weekly..and it'll be untracable.
thx for the brainstorming

Enough said, you are fucked. Sorry to be so blunt, consider another hobby because if she oversees your finances, she will eventually question you or will figure it out. Not what you wanted to hear but someone needed to Say it. My opinion anyway.

Point taken. However, I've been in the hobby since 2008 and don't see myself quitting anytime soon. Been able to hide it this long. Just need to change my technique There's plenty of money coming in, just need to hide it better now...i think the cash thing may work decently.

I am mow 40 years into a "stable relationship". We are both retired and our joint income is reduced. While money is not tight for us, there is not much extra and it is all accounted for. I negotiated a weekly allowance of sorts and save as much of it as I ca.an Sometimes a debit card purchase includes some small amount of cash-back too.
As much as possible, this money is kept as cash, and changed into $100 bills. This stash is kept put away, but not actually hidden, in separate places. this way, whenever the subject comes up we can tsalk about part of it without making a marrage-breaking issue out of it. For our 40th anniversary, there was some very nice jewelry.
I have a hobby (not THE HOBBY) that I sometimes spend a few hundred dollars at a time on. Sometimes this hobby yields backa few hundred dollars too.
The core principle is that "my money" is already approved for spending. I don't have to account for every penny and don't need permission to spend it.
With all that said, I have toadmit that I donot hobby every month any more either. Its more like once in every 6 to18 months now
.
You will have to weigh out just how important your SO relationship is to you versus pumping someone new with any frequency.
Wish you all the best in this.

Very good points. I was in a situation many years back. I was questioned on frequent withdrawls, my explanation was donation for charities needing money to pay for college books, rent, groceries, car repair, clothes during Christmas etc. It did fly. But to be honest I do contribute to Charities such as veterans, wwf, unicef etc and they provide me receipts.

Simple...tell your SO you want to withdraw some money to go fuck a hooker.
You either get the cash, or she leaves and you can do whatever you want with the cash you have remaining after she takes half your shit for being fucking stupid enough to say "I do."

You are banking on your wife being dumber than you.
Pour yourself a drink, head out to the patio, sit back and ponder this:
"Why has my lovely wife decided to take over the finances?"
Brace yourself, gumby.
You are fixing to get fucked.

I agree about taking your balls back. A man should make and handle his own money. Letting a woman have financial control over you is bullshit.

Be very careful. There is a reason she took over. Maybe she knows what you've been up to.
I'm so glad I don't have to worry about this shit.
