At what point in your role as mod's, do you invoke your executive authority and close a thread or remove it, ie insulting remarks, vulgar language,off color theme, porn insertions, or just plain naughty behavior, wait, I forgot, this is eccie, never mind ! 2nd question, since you are basically the police patrolmen on here, do you by chance have say a monthly quota of infractions to fulfill similar to a regular cops quota obligations for issuing citations? 3rd question ( i know, I said only a couple, but the 1st one didn't count) Aside from being a pri---, what other qualifications are considered in the process of being chosen to the role of mod, or are you appointed to the position similar to the papal appointment process by your peers? Does the number of posts enter into it, longevity on the site, number of reviews,penis size, any of the above? Just curious as to the logistics is all, and btw hope you guys didn't take offense to the prince reference!

Some mods volunteer... and/or beg for an appointment.... Those are the worst mods.... see GP.

Other mods are recruited.... and say yes, usually in a drunken stupor.... Those are the second worst mods.

As an addendum....
I was recruited. So that shows you the standards they are looking for. I said NO, but accepted a temporary assignment as an Ask The Staff Helper... (just so they'd fucking leave me alone)....
And an ATSH is a LOT more prestigious anyways....
I guess you can take the Ask the staff out of helper.... but you cant take the helper out of ask the staff....

I think you are also required to read the guidelines instead of breaking them.... so that was a turnoff as well.....

Good questions and Pauly answered some of them. Closing threads is a last resort but hijacking and blatant violations make that happen quickly as for the infraction quota? Yeah NO that doesn't exist.

As for how a Mod is chosen? If there is an opening, recommendations are made and the administration makes a call!

Hey DD, thank you for the response to my questions, since you did so well with those, I have one more, I have noticed a few poster's have " banned" under their names, yet they appear to be able to do anything the rest of us do. I would think that being banned is just that, are there perhaps variations of that status, ie sorta banned, kinda banned, should be banned, and lastly, banned in process? Is it possible these members, in an effort to be creative, have chosen that heading as opposed to something more popular like "valued poster" or " really bad Mod" ?

Ya know CC, post and respond to posts, unless I'm seeing things and getting confused trying to keep abreast of all the mindless gibberish postings and poster's on here! I have noticed though lately , the older I get the easier it is for me to get confused !

I'm pretty sure that if one is "BANNED" here... one can try and log in which shows one as active... however, the system will not let you log in.... so you can be "active" yet still be unable to contribute.... err... cause even more trouble....

These restrictions do NOT apply to any alternate handles or shandles that one may have... so that may be what is confusing to you.

I know I'm retired as an ASTH.... but I just can't help but help sometimes.... ask anyone....

I think he's talking about post from people who have since been banned. It doesn't remove their posts, just changes their account status.
