That's one of the reasons that the mob had Dr. Nigro (a made member of LCN) open the down town hospital. Seems STD treatment was not available to the working ladies until the downtown hospital opened those were the days,, the city was covered in whore houses and illegal gambling dens. There was a big gambling and whore house that operated out of the coates house hotel and the hyde park hotel on broadway.
