Default Mokoa, I repsectfully disagree

If there is a credible claim that a certain provider or providers are less than honest, I would like to be armed with that information before separating my pants (and wallet) from my ass and onto the floor and going to take my post-coital whiz.

Calling someone "Ghetto" is not really that nice I guess, but its not much of a slight. It certainly does not rise to the level of disrespect.

And sometimes a little "bickering" or heated interractions can lead to helpful information.

If everyone has to get along with everyone else completely, without heated discourse now and then, then the information exchanged on this site will be greatly (too greatly) limited.

Old guys (and I'm one) flirting in a non-confrontational way at all times with young hotties that arent free to occasionally state and post relevant, but not so nice information, is not what this site is about, and I would hate to see it deteriorate to that.

I'm not sure whether to post this in coed discussions, or here, so feel free to move mods if you feel that this is not an alert--although in my opinion, questioning the locking of a thread that provides alertworthy info without a compelling reason is the highest form of an alert.

flinde, I am going to disagree with you on this one. But, I am looking at it different.

Mokoa, as the mod, told everyone if there was more bickering or posts not related to the OP, then he would lock it. There was and he did. That is all you are seeing there.

The locking of the post is not saying anything about the merits of the posts you are concerned about. It is a direct response to flaunting of Mokoa's warning. Starting another alert to make any claims would have kept that thread open. I do not know if any points were issued, but being a mod on another would have me giving some out to someone who was told not to do something and then did it.

I would think the issues you are concerned about could be discussed in a post where they are the subject.

Very correct Pistolero, and thank you for all that you do Mokoa.

Its just that theft is a biggie. Its no fun to lose some money or stuff, but worse, the potential for an escalation to violence is there as tempers flare.

I like to be as warned as possible about these potential situations and stay very far away. I think that that is the most important part of a bbs such as this.

First of all, this thread is not an alert and has been moved to the proper forum.

You are armed with alert worthy information. The information in the alert posted by the OP was never edited or removed and it is still there for all to see and be better informed. Also, everything else that followed is also still there for all to see and be better informed.

Yes it does. The intent of the use of that word was quite obvious.

The bickering in that thread was nothing more than accusations going back and forth and none of it was germane to the topic of the thread.

Now I have to disagree. Look around this place. There are many threads that contain a good informative discussion without any of what was contained within the alert thread you are referencing. A good debate can take place without all the drama.

For those of you who are looking for drama, I suggest you go tune in Jerry, Maury, Dr. Phil, or any of those "judge" shows that are broadcast during the day.

The accusations and the resulting drama were not germane to the topic of that thread. It was getting out of hand. So, I posted my warning. In that warning I made it very plain to all to stay on topic and stop the bickering. I also made it plain that if anyone had another alert that they should start their own thread. I further made it plain what would happen if that warning was not heeded. The next post that followed mine obviously did not heed my warning, so I acted accordingly.

Still disagree re the "ghetto" thing Mokoa. Everyone here is an adult, involved in activities requiring a somewhat thick skin.

Look at this thread.

http://eccie.net/showthread.php?t=125677

Serves no legit purpose. Has a dramamagnet calling the majority of the male members here "lying, cheating sneaking little weasels".

Yet the thread goes on for 12 hours and pages of replies before being finally closed.

Anyone who lost any sleep because they were called "lying, cheating sneaking little weasels" isnt mature enough to belong and participate here. I doubt that anyone lost any sleep. These are adult topics. Somewhat controversial subject matter. Discourse is chilled when the occasional epithet such as "ghetto" closes discourse.

Abuse, threats, really debased epithets, thank you Mokoa for your efforts to slam in such a timely manner. "ghetto" ??? cmon.

Flinde,
I agree 100%. This is an adult board dealing w/ P4P. People here can't be so thin skinned that they are offended by every little remark. I've been warned over a remark that was not directed at any individual. It seemed kind of childish IMO but what are you going to do.

For the record, Mokoa and I have never met, most likely will never meet, even though he has offered to buy me a beer for something I did to assist him, we have had what would be called a "mixed" relationship on this and other boards. I appreciate the time and effort that the mods and admins put in, but like on the old place, often don't agree with their rules, decisions, or logic.

I have always thought that threads get locked too quickly, and for reasons that don't make sense.

I'm a member of another board, and the mods there have to be very thick skinned, and give as good as they get. One of the best parts of that board is the interesting turns and twists that threads take when allowed. Many times, much more interesting than the original subject.

I wish things here were a little more open here, but we play the hands dealt.
