Default OK ladies ... WTF is up with " no texting"

Just wondering why some of you fine ladies hate texting.
I for one--- think it's the shit , and usually pass by the ones who blatantly bash the texters... Here is why...

As a cute, well mannered, well dressed, well educated, and discerning gentleman... I can send out a few texts and see what kind of response I get..
It's sorta like fishing with multiple lines in the water.

Plus- it friggen 2010 for pete's sake! Who the heck is pete anyway??
I have an iPhone 4g and did FaceTime with a girl I met a while back... It was great. She was kinda shy about meeting me until we did FaceTime--- then she ordered me to her appt to fuk the daylights outta her.

So--- just my opinion.... But I believe that you might get better and more clients by allowing texting .... Plus you can google their number before you respond and try to find some scoop... If you googles my number, you'd get about 15 hits on page one.... It's published on thousands of websites... I'm a businessman and marketing is the tool of my trade....

Just sayin.....

With all due respect to you matty...but, you may think "it's the shit;" however, some hobbyists, whose SO's have found saucey text messages on their hubby's 3/4G phones, may disagree with you.

Unless a hobbyist is single...and/or has a secure hobby phone, texting explicit information is a security risk, and should be held to a minimum...and definitely kept discreet.

As for why some providers don't like texting...it's not that they don't like the ease of texting...of course, we all do. The problem is...that some hobbyists aren't considerate of a provider's personal life. They forget, when a provider closes her "office," that also means...it's inappropriate to send text messages all hours of the day and night without her consent...as is just showing up at her incall without notice.

Some providers have families and SO's as well...just because a provider says she's unencumbered, doesn't necessarily mean she's telling you the truth. Maybe she just doesn't want to tell a hobbyist her personal business. Some do and are very open about their lives...some are very private...but, all should should be respected.

As for texts being a factor for more business...I don't think it's a factor at all, in a hobbyist's decision making when selecting a provider....but, that's just imho.

Likinikki's comments are right on, as the use of texting in this hobby/biz does require total phone security, courtesy and common sense.

I find texting for setting up appointments to be extremely useful and helpful, and have to say that it is indeed a factor when selecting a provider - sometimes - in scenarios where there is little opportunity for making a voice call. Like from work, or a crowded luncheon.

But that's usually selecting a provider I have seen before. A first-time meeting usually requires a PM, Email, or voice call, and that is perfectly understandable.

My thanks to those ladies who do offer me the convenience of texting...

Nothing like a hot message that burns the string off my Carnation Cup N String communication service.

I don't get it either. A lot of providers don't want to be texted.

Really doesn't matter to me. I think texting is a very discreet way to contact someone. If they are busy with something else, family, a phone call, shower, etc., it gives them the opportunity to answer when they get a minute. I usually use the old school way, a phone call. If it is early in the morning or late at night (after 7:30pm), and I think they might be sleep or not awake, yet, I will send a text so I don't interfere with their normal life.

Usually, when I am ready to see someone, I am ready right now. My schedule is busy so I don't have the ability to make appoointments. An emergency can come up where I need to get to work, right now, and it happens alot. I call or text and if I don't get a reply in a reasonable amount of time for me, about twenty minutes, I just call someone else and see if they have an opening in the next few hours. Sometimes, by the time they reply to the text, I am on my way to see someone else. The phone call avoids that problem for me.

Thanx for the insight.
Hey LikiNikki- while I do understand and appreciate your position I humbly disagree.
I just prefer texting and I'm clearly not alone. It is a way of being discreet. If some jackass texts you after hours then maybe he should be kicked in the meat-n- two veggies

I am always cognizant of the ladies posted "hours" and would never call or text outside those times unless I knew her pretty well and had her consent. As for my SO --- she just does not rummage through my stuff. She gives me my space and privacy...

Thanx guys....

I like texting because I am not always at home or able to do IMs or PMs. Yet its easier to hide then a call when I am in class.

...and message contents so easily obtained by attorneys in divorce cases..............

and don't forget there is a memory system in your vehicle's GPS whether you delete it or not -----think mother board..............

I would further offer there is no such thing as "total phone security"..

Just my thoughts

I only text a provider after getting her ok to do so or to reply to her text. When I text I keep it short and to the point w/o being explicit or overly detailed.

Matty...I'm glad you're a considerate texter...seriously! (lol) I'm not saying I never text or that it's not convenient. You asked why some providers would prefer not to text...so, I was just giving you a couple of examples of why. Also, with some hobby phones, text isn't an option, unless you pay an additional fee...and that adds up!

I'm just one of those few providers who have had the unfortunate experience of being on the end of a very angry spouse...after they found un-deleted messages and unusual amounts of text messages (numbers do show up on a bill for texts) coming and going...so, I've just learned from past mistakes...just sayin.

It's just not worth losing everything for the ease of a few texts. And, for me, I like actually speaking to my boyfriends...which I intend to do right now!!

All the more reason to have a disposable hobby phone.
