Despite no official action from the president ahead of the election, the Obama administration has quietly begun preparing to issue millions of work authorization permits, suggesting the implementation of a large-scale executive amnesty may have already begun.

Not at all. Reagan didn't do an end run around Congress. And the 1986 amnesty program had bi-partisan support.

What Obama is doing doesn't.

Reagan signed a bill that was enacted by Congress. A bill that had bi-partisan support.

What Obama is doing is just the opposite of how a democracy operates.

Doesn't matter. Reagan didn't have to deal with Republican dog whistle and skin color politics. He's the first amnesty president and you should be proud of the guy. ;-)

Obama has done some things wrong but he's also Reagan like.

I will call them the amnesty brothers because it's what they are. Obama studied Reagan and is walking in his mold even though the environment is tad bit different in 2008 and again in 2014 than it was during Reagan's day

If Obama studied Reagan, he was a poor student and likely failed the Reagan 101 course.

Reagan didn't pass amnesty thru executive action, against the overwhelming will of the American public. In fact, the amnesty law that Reagan signed had bi-partisan support. Something Obama rarely has in his leadership actions.

At least you're honest about this, ZanyBore. Amnesty will increase the number of Democrat voters. If the illegals tended to lean Republican, there is no way Obama would do this. That is what this is all about.

BTW, Reagan was wrong. Obama spends too much time repeating his predecessors mistakes. He should try emulating their successes.
