Summer is actually my favorite time of year, Christmas time is much more difficult for me. I'm sure you'll do well on your Houston visit though Dallas esp. doing doubles w/Fancyinheels & MsAthena!
How you feel about any of the seasons is primarily only a state of mind.
Life is more enjoyable if you stop hating those things that you cannot control.
. . . The problem is not summer, it is how you choose to relate to it - and fortunately that is something that you can control.
ops sorry

How is your hobby life in summer {hobbyist do you hobby more??}{providers do you find business slower??}
Now I do like being able to do more outdoor real world stuff like camping, tubing, sightseeing & canoeing...I just don't like sweating too much {lol}.
What do yoy like/hate about summer??
add Now I do like being able to do more outdoor real world stuff like camping, tubing, sightseeing & canoeing...I just don't like sweating too much and biz together
but be careful in the canoe, I know mine is easy to flip when...
sweating ok if fresh and you worked it up together
While all local businesses have a slow down in the summer due to people going out of town for vacation, i would think the only thing different is people doing more activities outside. This would primarily affect weekend day time activities.
This leads me to wonder, what % of a providers business is typically weekend vs weekday, and working hours vs weekend?
Due to driving distances, I'm pretty much a lunch fime hobbiest. As I have to work year round, and as I am horny year round, summer doesn't lessen my activities.
Edit: now that I think some more on it, it might be natural for some to cut back on hobbying if that is money they need to pay for a summer vacation. Just depends on income
'Tis hot outside, but my private courtyard garden at my apartment is a very pleasant outdoor place in the morning and evenings. Even during the heat of the day, I can look out the big glass door and watch the birds and bees enjoy my flowers. (No, that's not a euphemism.) I have a huge umbrella that covers the whole area, and my hibiscus welcome the shade. The feathered creatures like the birdbaths.
I LOVE the water, beaches, lakes, rivers, pools, tubs, but my biggest problem with summer is that I have to wear even MORE supernova 5000 sunscreen than usual during the day to protect this pale Irish hide. Blocks the pores, keeps the skin from breathing, and just makes me feel like I'm one step away from heatstroke. I do most of my swimming after 5 p.m., but particularly love night frolics in water.
I also hobby in cooler weather..couldn't imagine seeing a provider sweating no way would I ever do that.)...I have to be freshly showered everytime.. also I dont like the summer due to the sun..I hate it!
I guess I can say that at least in summer, you can get out to do more outdoor stuff like swimming/camping etc
I do quite well in Houston all times of year....this trip has been good {only had a couple missteps}........But most other Texas towns are slow in summer or at least in my eyes.......New Orleans is slow in summer too...........
But you take it as it is and make the best of any situation.
