Crossing state lines for "fun," a felony in some states

I would love to know, if anyone has the info, which states have made it a felony to cross state lines to engage in the "Big P"?

Someone once told me that if you were to, say, live in one state but drive to another and get busted, instead of a misdemeanor, it would be a felony in certain states due to crossing state lines.

Any experts on the topic?

It is not the states. Once you take a hooker across state lines, you are trafficking, and the law against trafficking is federal and called the Mann Act.

I first saw trafficking signs when I crossed the USA into Mexico like in 2014 and was like WTF is this about? I talked to a cop who was involved in prostitution. He said he didn't care if hos were hos but he found a few, and I emphasize a few women, who were hos against their will.

LE used these few women as an excuse and came out and declared that any man seeing a ho was supporting trafficking and would treat men (but not women) seeing hos as those assisting in trafficking. To me, it was obvious that LE was trying to cash in on prostitution and trying to turn a victimless crime into one with victims.

It has bothered me that women can be victims no matter what even hos making six figures per year but the truth is the government has forced them into victim status, and they do not often have a choice. If you bring a ho across state lines, and she says that she did so of her own free will, the Feds can charge her as an accessory while if she says she was forced, she goes free.

The Mann Act also has a civil forefeiture provision so that the Feds can charge your bank account or car with the crime of trafficking and seize it. The Feds do not need to prove anything to do this. They can just seize the asset and you have to sue to get it back. So they can squeeze the girl into an accusation and then seize assets. I am not sure how much of this is happening yet but the writing IMO was on the wall.

The surprising part is not just that the Mann Act involves transportation not just between states but between countries.

So transporting a ho or SB or even a young GF across state or international lines, which was really not a big deal 5 or 10 years ago, is a whole lot more risky now because the Feds have taken the Mann Act to extremes.

I see. So a lady taking herself across state lines is just a misdemeanor; but if somebody is with her, that's a felony. (In a nutshell)

I know a lot of guys must take these girls on trips with them. I wonder if this opens them up for prosecution in this make believe justice system. Remember guys if ever called to jury duty vote not guilty on any gun or prostitution law. Sadly it has become us versus them and we need to fight not just take it or "just get on with our lives".

I can say that in KS, that’s not true. I got busted last month (court tomorrow) and it’s just a misdemeanor.

Sorry to hear that, Starbucks. It will not be the end of the world, however. Life will go on, and it will only be as bad as you decide to feel about it.

It's SO unfortunate we live in a society that loves to profit from fines.
But the pursuit of happiness and pleasure is not a crime when it harms no one.

It's a guaranteed revenue stream for local governments; the pursuit of happiness and pleasure cannot be stopped, because that's what everyone desires. It's like punishing someone for desiring water or air. It's a necessity for life.

I think there's a thread on this somewhere from awhile back. A lot of states do have felonies for trafficking and prosecutors can bring that into the mix if relevant and proven according to those trafficking laws.

If she totally takes herself across state lines, then it is less likely.

However, Elliott Spitzer called an escort agency in another state to send him a prostitute. That was technically a violation of the Mann Act. But back then, no one was interested in enforcing the trafficking law not like now.

That’s just silly. Banging hookers, or anyone else for that matter isn’t a “necessity for life”. It might make someone miserable, but lack of pussy isn’t going to kill someone within minutes or days (or any other amount of time) like lack of air or water.

In my area there was a well known hobbies. He had a 9 passenger suv. He used to advertise to take providers to the casino in Reno. He would offer to drive them over and pay for three or four hotel rooms.

His ad also stated, door to door service, but you must walk across the Stateline. Rumor had it, that he would drive up highway 80, pulp over at the California state line, everyone would exit the the vehicle, he would drive the vehicle across the Stateline, get out, and then watch the providers he was taking walk across state line, load them back up, and drive them to the casino.

I know several providers who took him up on his Reno trips and confirmed they walked across state lines.

I always thought he was nuts and brought more attention to himself with all those providers walking across time Stateline.
