Default it has begun...Tucker Carlson whitewash part 1

GOP senators rebuke Tucker Carlson for downplaying Jan. 6 as 'mostly peaceful'.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called the Fox News host's portrayal a "mistake," while Sen. Kevin Cramer said it was “just a lie” to compare Jan. 6 to a peaceful protest.

At a GOP leadership news conference, McConnell, R-Ky., said he wanted to align himself with the letter sent to the U.S. Capitol Police force by Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger, who denounced Carlson for spreading “offensive and misleading conclusions” about the insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021, including a “disturbing accusation” that Officer Brian Sicknick’s death had nothing to do with the riot.

"I want to associate myself entirely with the opinion of the chief and the Capitol Police about what happened on Jan. 6," McConnell said as he held up a copy of the letter. "It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that’s completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.”

Senator Tillis said Carlson's depiction was “inexcusable.”

Republican Sen. Kevin Cramer, a North Dakota conservative, said he was in the Capitol on Jan. 6 and firmly rejected Carlson's portrayal of that day.

“I think that breaking through glass windows and doors to get into the United States Capitol against the borders of police is a crime. I think particularly when you come into the chambers, when you start opening the members' desks, when you stand up in their balcony — to somehow put that in the same category as, you know, permitted peaceful protest is just a lie,” Cramer said.

Default Tucker Carlson whitewash part 2

US Capital police chief Thomas Manger said in a letter to his officers that Carlson's show was “filled with offensive and misleading conclusions about the January 6th attack," adding that the show “never reached out to the department to provide accurate context.”

“The program conveniently cherry-picked from the calmer moments of our 41,000 hours of video,” Manger wrote in the letter, which was obtained by NBC News. “The commentary fails to provide context about the chaos and violence that happened before or during these less tense moments.”

What did not appear on Carlson’s program Monday evening was video showing police and rioters engaged in extended violent clashes. About 140 police officers were assaulted that day.

Default Tucker Carlson whitewash part 3

“‘Deadly insurrection’ — everything about that phrase is a lie,” Carlson said Monday night. “Very little about Jan. 6 was organized or violent. Surveillance video from inside the Capitol shows mostly peaceful chaos.”

Carlson said his team is sifting through 44,000 hours of Jan. 6 video and will release segments on his program to demonstrate that the attempt to block Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory was not violent — an assertion Democrats, many Republicans, police officers and others in the Capitol that day roundly reject.

So this is why the video was given first to Tucker Carlson.

He needs to "sift".

... Crikey! ... Mitch McConnell and Kevin Cramer.
Two real conservatives there... Ya surely left out
Mitt Romney and Tom Tillis... Two more.

All condemning Tucker showing the footage and
his stance about it.

... They didn't call it a "whitewash", though.

I'm sure that McConnell was in on the J6 riot along with Pelosi.

they certainly wanted a certain narrative presented front and center and did not want the peaceful footage shown.

Thr crime was committed. Somehow you want peaceful moments shown to make up for that....or what ?

Here is something to keep you busy. Gather up all the surveillance footage from the houses in your neighborhood. Maybe 99% will be peaceful and 1% show crimes. You can show the 99% to all your neighbors in defense of the crooks that broke into their homes.

Absolutely the strangest thought process imaginable.

You just figured out that logic and common sense evade the likes of Salty and the rest of the right wing nuts? None of them have any ability to see anything beyond the lies that support their conspiracy theories. Salty has gone the route of spotting nonsense and believing it makes sense.

Watching it live it was easy to see that nothing made any sense that reporters were saying. It had been known for 1 to 2 weeks that a huge crowd was going demonstrate by the Capital building. This size of group has been there before and there was always enough law enforcement present to control the crowd. Trump was still speaking a mile away when the “breach” occurred. The obvious question is why the lack security compared to other times for crowds this size. The propaganda driven Jan 6 committee sure didn’t care about the lack of security.

If you actually read the report, lack of security is the very first thing addressed.

Bottom line, it was incompetence at many levels rather than as Tucker would sucker your dopamine receptors into believing; that some grand orchestrated conspiracy was at play to undermine the good guys.

its a well known fact, solid and unassailable

maybe apart from the way our military used to be in their main objective

that government is incompetent

unlike the business man, who sinks or swims, depending on his or her own actions

there is very little accountability in government, no one has a proprietary interest, firing is only in extreme cases, even frauds like buttigieg can survive

so yes pre event failures concerning jan 6 abounds, including unexamined failure, like pelosi's

in the post event examination of jan 6,with the dimocrat fixation on pinning everything on trump, the dimocrats, as usual, lied and ignored and selected only that which would further that narrative

so yes, there was pre event incompetence, but there were and are post event lies and coverups as well,

the exclusion of conservatives from the committee assured that

the dramatization of the selected videos, with sound tracks added, the snippets selected out of context

the absolving of the murder of ashli babbit in a total blackout

the lies about, was it 5?, officers killed by the crowd

the political hate shown in the treatments given the grandmas and grandpas and foolishnesses of the crowd by the doj, coupled with friendly d.c. judges

the refusal to release to defendants exculpatory information such as the recordings

the mysterious characters like ray epps, seen fomenting actions of the crowd, yet he remains untouched by the doj

but was there a dimocrat plan to exploit the crowd in advance for politcal purposes? some evil plan to allow the crowd enough rope to use against trump? i would not put it past the dimocrat leadership. certainly there has always been a dimocrat plan to lie about trump, pre or post jan 6

of course there was and remains a dimocrat plan to lie and cut and paste and spin the narrative after the event, along with an aiding and abetting news media

so now tucker reveals some of the stuff and the cries begin

How many times previously has a US president told his followers to stop congress from handing power to his successor?

"The image of the past and present President at the US Capitol is seen as an image of the continuity of government and a graceful and peaceful transfer of power."

except...Mr. Trump was not there

French strikers renew pressure on Macron to ax pension plan

Quote:
On Wednesday morning, train traffic and the Paris metro remained severely disrupted.

The SNCF rail authority said only one high-speed train in three was expected to circulate across the country. Trains to Spain have come to a halt and some cancellations affect those to and from Britain and Belgium.

A fifth of flights have been canceled at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport and about a third at Orly Airport.

Oil shipments in the country were halted for a second consecutive day amid strikes at the refineries of TotalEnergies and Esso ExxonMobil, according to the CGT union.

Paris garbage collectors also decided to continue the strike on Wednesday.

In addition, workers on strike were blocking access to ports in the southern city of Marseille and in Rouen and Le Havre, in the west.

Macron has vowed to go ahead with the bill, which he presents as key to his pro-businesses economic policies.

Left-wing lawmakers say companies and the wealthy should pitch in more to finance the pension system.

US railroad strike averted after Congress steps in, Biden signs legislation

Quote:
U.S. President Biden signed into law on Dec. 2 legislation that averted a nationwide rail strike slated for Dec. 9 following a months-long dispute between railroad companies and unions. The legislation means the economy will be spared some of the commodity price impacts that were expected if a strike had occurred.

Oh, how soon . . .

. . . we forget.

Nope. I think you slipped a cog there. When reporters talk about most peaceful (albiet firey) protests they are obviously talking about the Antifa(gs) and BLM goon platoons.
