Fetterman drops a large truth bomb in the Dem toilet
Release the hounds! We gots us a runner!
Is he still allowed to be honest in that party?
Hope he doesn't slip on a banana peel out on the streets of DC.
Quote:
by Elizabeth Weibel 9 Sep 2025
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) criticized Democrats who have been warming up to and embracing socialism while dismissing capitalism, describing them as “morons.”
When asked about a Gallup poll that found that 42 percent of Democrats have a favorable view of capitalism, while 66 percent of Democrats “view socialism favorably,” Fetterman shared how when he was in Croatia, he told people that “some people” in the Democrat Party “are talking about socialism,” and asked people about their thoughts.
Fetterman continued to explain how one guy expressed that socialism is “the worst thing ever” and warned that people would “never want to live” in a country with socialism.
“Senator, there’s a Gallup poll that was released that 42 percent of Democratic voters view capitalism favorably, while 66 percent of Democratic voters view socialism favorably. Do you think that’s a messaging issue for Democrats?” a reporter asked.
“Oh, that’s a great, it’s a great question,” Fetterman responded. “I literally was in a former communist nation, and I asked that. I said, ‘Some people in my party, some of the lefties are talking about socialism now. What do you think?’ And he’s like, ‘That’s the worst thing ever. You would never want to live here, I’ve lived through that kind of a thing. You’re going to need a reality check if you ever adopt any of those things. You know, like, you are morons. It’s like, it was a nightmare for us, and now we are a free market nation.’ It was Croatia.”
Fetterman continued to note that people in Croatia were “mystified” why Americans are “even having that conversation in our nation.”

Ruh-Ro. We need to tamp this guy down a fair bit.
Don't need him scaring the wee ones.

Ex-CNN Star Sounds Alarm After Poll Shows Dems Ditching Capitalism: 'Socialism Will Not Sell… It Is a Loser'
Chris Cillizza, who spent years at CNN and The Washington Post, is not a conservative.
That makes his blunt warning Tuesday about the Democratic Party’s socialist drift all the more striking.
On his YouTube channel, Cillizza cited new Gallup polling released earlier in the day that found 66 percent of Democrats now view socialism favorably.
Only 42 percent of Democrats view capitalism favorably.
“I guess it’s not terribly surprising, but I do think if I am a Democrat who wants to win the 2028 election,” he noted, “that would worry me, candidly, because socialism broadly will not sell.”
“You can call it democratic socialism. You can call it whatever you want. But the idea of socialism will not sell in the country,” he added.
Cillizza continued, “And if Democrats are branded socialists, and numbers like this make it pretty easy to do that honestly, and factual to do it, I do not think that they will win. I think you have to reframe this.”
He urged the party’s stars — New York City Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, and New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — to drop their socialist labels entirely...

Really wish he hadn't gone so far there in that last paragraph. Will have to count on the Dims total lack of introspection to carry the day, despite the possibility that they might actually adhere to truth in advertising, ironically enough.

Ruh-Rho. He's at it again...
This time Fetterman is voting for the GOP clean-CR to open up government poste-haste. He must smell the musk that the Dims are gonna be wearing going into the midterms.

What does any of this nonsense even mean to the people who whine about it? No one can seem to clearly define the "socialism" that democrats seem to want so badly.
It's incredibly surreal to see so many people so vehemently opposed to socialism but none of them being able to explain what exactly they're against. Even the posted quote talks about how another country did socialism, and how its obviously bad, and how apparently Democrats want it but...which policies exactly are the socialism?
I just wish this conversation had more substance. It's disappointing that Fetterman and others have exactly as much substance about this as the overly caffeinated guy at my gym who can't watch sports where the ball isn't round (like football). Even in this thread, not a single person can point to what exactly this alleged "socialism" is. Is it just lefty vibes?
So what even does the "truth" that he dropped even amount to in the end?

Oh wow. This fucking post above nails it. So well said.
Unlike the simplistic, almost nonsensical statements by Fetterman.
And most of the rest in this thread. We don't like "substance" here. And "introspection" is only needed by Dems.

Dear Democratic Gentlemen,
I have to disagree with you. As you know there are two definitions of socialism. Political scientists take it to mean state control of the means of production -- enlightened communism. However, in the context of American political discourse, a socialist is a person who favors bigger government and more redistributive policies.
When you ask a person whether she prefers socialism or capitalism, she should realize the pollster wants to know whether she prefers (a) government control of industry or (b) private ownership. Otherwise, why would the survey question refer to capitalism?
But say she didn't understand the question, and actually thinks the pollster's asking if she wants more government involvement in the economy. And for the rich to pay much more than their fair share, in a way that will channel more benefits and money her way.
Either way she's a dumb ass. She's being asked if she wants the USA to end up like Cuba, only with democracy. Or just poor like France instead of destitute. And she's saying hell yeah.
The new breed of Democrat, like AOC, Zohran Mamdani, and Bernie Sanders (he'll always be young at heart!) proudly wears the label of Democratic Socialist. Alas, they're sadly misguided. They need to see the light and become liberals like me! Economic and classical liberals! That's part of the ministry of the Church of Tiny, which I've tirelessly promoted here. I'd ask you to donate, but figure that should wait until after I convert you.

Seems like you need assistance. Now, Imma blame your 5th grade teacher for skipping civics altogether, but I first have to ask if you are in fact age eligible for this site.
If so, you can ask Fetterman directly if you like. Imma respect his first amendment right to speak out, as much as I respect the right of the Dims to not listen. Surely, I hope they do not listen.
At any rate, let's make up for lost time for that basic civics lesson.
That video might have come up short. I notice it did not have a lengthy list of countries where Socialism is highly successful and admired by the peasants, err, uhhhm, I mean, citizens. Regardless, you can now go-on with yo fine self and extoll the many virtues and explain why you love the socialism.

@Tiny, I will agree with paragraph #1. I think paragraph #2 is over simplified. Questions for you.
1. Do you think FDR was right to implement the Social Security program?
2. Do you think Bush43 was right to implement Medicare Part D subsidy?
3. Do you think Obama was right to implement the ACA (AKA Obamacare)?
All three of the above are examples of redistributive policies. Does that make the USA socialist? Keep in mind when Bush43 left office Jan. 2009 the DJIA was 7,000 points it is now above 45,000 points. Capitalism is alive and well in the USA. Guys like Larry Ellinson, , Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Bill Gates have more money than they can count. I am okay with that. I just want them to have the same tax rate percentage that I have. The tax rate table says their tax rate percentage is higher. The reality is they are not paying what's in the tax table. Have a nice day.

Answer is simple, no on all three.
Actually the biggest problem is the Income Tax, that is what really lets the Federal Government micromanage business and corruptible power to Congress.
