You got played. Democrats are on record how bad it is to shutdown the govt. and now there is a clean CR.

Why won't they vote for the clean CR but would for the one that gave themselves a 40% raise, exempted them from Obamacare, and shielded their electronic communications from legal subpoena?

It has mostly to do with the debt ceiling. The CR suspends the debt ceiling for the next two years. If the democrats give that up they lose a great bit of leverage when dealing with the new majority .

Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader in the House, previously said he opposed Trump’s push to raise the debt ceiling, and many Republicans have voiced discomfort with it as well. It is not yet clear if the proposal that House Republican leaders plan to offer would have the votes to pass in the House or the Democratic-led Senate. (The debt limit is suspended until Jan. 1.)

There was a bipartisan bill that was agreed to. A bad bill but bipartisan. Musk and Trump blew it up. No one likes bipartisan spending bills because they are usually full of pork. But if someone needs to own this it’s Musk and Trump that will do so.

It also seems to me that Republican congressmen are pussies for listening to Trump’s tweets rather than doing their jobs.
