At least texting is much less intrusive than calling. I don't do it, but I have no problem with someone texting me at any hour. My hobby phone is off most of the time, and definitely when I go to bed.

I always find it interesting when a hobbyist calls me at 11pm, midnight, etc. and wants an appointment the same night. When I ask for references they give them to me, and think that it would be OK for me to call their references that late at night. I won't do it. They always try to reassure me "Oh I am sure she is up". That's not the point! I would never even attempt to get a reference check from another lady that late. Not exactly on topic, but closely related I totally feel your frustration!
