Hotel Help!

My delicious doubles partner and I will be traveling to Htown in the near future!
I have my favorite hotels in other cities where I tour but have yet to find one in Houston. Also, taking into consideration there are dangerous areas to steer clear of! Having just seen a posting for some bad business on the North side of town.

Tell me...where should we stay so that our 'naughty business' can happen in a private, not to costly hotel. I generally stay in the Energy Corridor and have been advised to stay in the Ga$$eria area.

Omni, Embassy suites, Marriott and Westin all on I 10 west. There is also a new renovated Wyndham at I 10 and highway 6 ... but the 4 I mentioned first are the nicest.
