Default One of the many reasons I like "providers"

Last week I witnessed a lady help an elderly person carry some groceries out of the store It was obvious the two did not know each other. The look of appreciation from the elderly woman was priceless. I also recognized the younger lady as a provider, although I've never met her.

Anyway, I started thinking about the ladies I have met and the posts we read here and one thing stands out in my mind. Although this is a business, it seems the majority of providers do have extremely big hearts and performing a simple random act of kindness is completely natural to them.

So, to this lovely lady, she knows who she is, thank you. You reminded me of something I was taught early in life:
"Do something nice for someone everyday of your life, however small, and you'll be a happier person." (Mom)

And to all of you who do make it a practice to perform random acts of kindness - Thank You

WHAT a lovely story! I try very hard to do nice things for people when I can. My daughter has always asked me (since she was a little girl) 'why are you so nice to people?'. I tell her because it is the right thing to do and it makes me feel good!

Thanks for sharing that story!

Karma's very real in my mind. What goes around comes around and acts of kindness (or lack thereof) are visited upon you in no less than equal amounts.

I am a FIRM believer in Kharma.... If you piss in your own pool long enough you will eventually drown. But a person who does things out of simple acts of love or kindness earn my respect greatly.

Clouddancer thanks for me mentioning this thread. I think it's important to be reminded that were are real people behind a username on a board.

Yep. I help with heavy items, open doors, let people with 1 item skip ahead of me in line at the store....quite frankly, I feel like a royal A-hole if I don't lend a hand.

The sad part is that we consider these as "random acts of kindness"...it should be second nature, but sadly for most it's not

Thats because people are selfish by nature. Especially in a big city like DFW everyone tries to live within their own bubble and are very protective of their personal space. Human by nature are selfish. All this combined too many people walk around with their eyes to the ground or tunnel vision their paths and constantly thinking about their own life their own feelings.

If we just stop once in awhile, look around, see our environment, the people within it; we can be kinder, nicer, and help others in need if it is only just small. Now group hug everyone.

Yes Kharma is a bitch. Don't mess with it. I don't even act out vindictively to people when the well damn deserve it. If I do, Kharma will get me. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that people are not necessarily mad directly at you, but outside sources in their lives make them unhappy. So step back take a deep breath and be nice to them instead.

I love the fact that the stereotype of "escort and johns" to the outside world personify sleeze and dirt. However people I met here and as Clouddancer have mentioned are truly some of the most giving thoughtful people around.
