If I knew how to cook Pho, or run a restaurant, or trusted someone to do it for me, I'd open up a restaurant with a name similar to this one:

I think I would call it:
Pho King
Awesome Soup

Used to be a joint in Garland called Saigon Kitchen that was pretty good. Don't know if it is still open. Bun bo Hue is the only type of pho I eat and it was pretty good there.

Bun Bo Hue is not Pho, it is soup, but not the same noodles which defines Pho, as the Huffington article states.

btw, if you REALLY want to pronounce it right,, it is not "foe" or "fuh". it is more precisely pronounced in between "fuh" and "fur".

Pho bang in garland. Can't beat it. Worth the drive. Lots of limes and sirachi. I like it spicy no on the sweet sauce. I think it's plum sauce. Not bad taste I just like mine spicy. Pho Bang!!

Pho Pasteur is great. I live out east now, so I go to que huong, 45 mint, and occasionally bistro b, but Pho Pasteur is my place. I went to college at UTA and used to eat there between classes. The guy that runs it is really cool, he's been there a very long time. He still recognizes me when I go in, he's a class act.

I know it's in one of those asian malls and some of you pho snobs would probably turn your nose up at it but I kinda like noodlelicous in the Cali saigon mall.
I usually end up hurting myself eating too much when I hit those places and need a nap afterwards.

Pho pasteur is okay but I hate the texture of their meatballs. I did get the rice porridge and asian chicken salad combo once. Mix the salad in the rice porridge and it was pretty tasty. More places need to see the chicken rice soup like they do in California pho places. The rice porridge concoction is the closest I could get.

My vote is for Pho Pasteur. I like fatty brisket and tendon.

Pho Bay recently opened in Plano and is good. Try their avocado smoothie. When not there I choose Pho Pasteur.

but like Adonis hints at, there's a big difference between authentic and not.. you can guess fairly easily what is and what's not by the name, neighborhood, and how many Vietnamese eat there..

Pho is not supposed to be trendy.. it is a poor man's meal.. really.. there's a reason it dates back Centuries, and is eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner.. it's cheap to make, quick to serve.. every Vietnamese Lady knows how to make it.. just like cereal or eggs & bacon here..
Hate To Tell You This But Down In The Mekong Delta.....In South Vietnam...for those that don't know Vietnam well....I'm not Vietnamese but I spend a lot of time there...North And South.....I found that a lot of people didn't know how to make it...at least not as well as they made it in the Northern parts.....I'm not an Expert by far but I have had it a lot and when I went to the deep South In the Mekong Delta they just would say they didn't make it or didn't know how...now lets have a beer and enjoy some Pho

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Pho Crystal on the border of Allen and Fairview off of Stacy Rd. Best pho in the DFW area hands-down and I eat it at least once a week. The owner lady is a saucy MILF and her daughters are super hot - just a couple perks. Seriously though, go there and tell me it's not the best pho you've ever had.
