For anyone who doesn't know, Alan Turing was a Geek's Geek. He invented a Field Programmable Logic Device ten years before the First Field Programmable Logic Device which we now incorrectly call the first computer. Using this device to decode Nazi coded messages he shortened World War II by 3 years. His story should inspire us all to strive to be different.

Turing was a badass geek, but the first computer is generally considered to be the Analytical Engine created by Charles Babbage.
