Minor correction. SWC was NOT successfully prosecuted. They did not even get an indictment. It was taken down, but by the owner. However, the adversary was the APD and our distinguished Albuquerque DA not the feds.

Well that took longer than I expected. I actually thought perhaps they had won another battle after judge ruled in their favor last year. Same old tactics used by le, on both federal and local levels, that we've seen time and time again have seemed to work once again. BP put up a good fight and apparently wish to continue to do so. Maybe all in vain at this point, however... Have yet to see a venue revive after conceding. Guess we will have to wait and see, not holding my breath.

In your opinion what do you think Eccie has need for concern?

I wouldn't know. I supposed operators would know the answer to that question better than I would. It does seem the more blatant and obvious a site becomes, the more they are targeted. Expansion is not always a good thing. I suppose it's a fairly safe guess to assume that any hobby affiliated site would and could be at risk.

I appreciate the reply and your valuable input.

You may be correct about whether or not the case was "successfully" prosecuted, but I seem to recall that one of the charges involved pimping and pandering across state lines, which would make it a Federal crime. Am I correct about that? As such, federal authorities were most likely involved in the investigation, and they quite possibly provided valuable assistance in collecting computer crime evidence for the arrests.

I did not follow the SWC court case very closely, so you or others may have much more accurate information concerning the outcome and specific details.

In any event, my original point was simply that "government entities", whether they be local, state, or federal, have an agenda and a bias against online adult provider websites. In my opinion, shutting these sites down and arresting the operators does very little to deter whatever crimes they hope to snuff out. Everyone just goes to a new website. So, they are basically playing musical chairs, and wasting our tax payer dollars on pointless cases. Their time, effort, and funds could be put to much better use. Just my two cents worth.

The media talked about interstate issues. The actual charges filed did not. The feds provided minor assistance on computer forensics but were never formally involved.

I agree totally with your main points.

Duly noted. Thanks for the correction and facts about the case.
