a block feature

It would be nice if we had the ability to block a user from sending us any PM's.

It might even be cool to be able to block the comments of any one that you choose from the threads - there is always one or two guys that for what ever reason seem to bring negativity to any discussion without ever contributing and they really don't care. They even get their rock off by doing it. So, asking them to stop just feeds the fire. There are several ways to do this on Facebook, surely we should be able find a way to do that here.

Is the OP seeking a means to block certain 'negative' members from being able to post in particular threads?

I just wouldn't read them (meaning the PMs).

You said you wanted to block certain users comments in a thread. Would that be just for your own view or as an OP of a thread, you want to be able to pick and choose who you block from everyone's view from your own thread?

I say, if you let these things bother you that much, you need to just back away from the board. If you don't want to do that, then whenever you see PMs from certain people, don't open them or read them....and once you see their handle in a thread posting something....avert your eyes and go on to the next post.

you obviously aren't familiar with OCD. Part of it is the compulsion that if someone asks you a question or makes a comment to you ... you are compelled to answer. Ignoring is very hard to do

Use the User CP link that appears on the left of most ECCIE pages. I say most because it does not appear on pages that display PM's.

is there a post some where? ... I click multi quote and all it does is turn yellow and doesn't seem to do anything - I would love to know how to make it work, but I can't find any instructions.

On any forum page, even looking at particular threads, there is a main menu on the far left side near the top, User CP is the first link you can click on.

The Ignore list is great...too bad they can't figure out how keep their posts from showing up when someone quotes them in a post.
