Hey everyone,
I'm starting my tour and will be heading to stl in september and will start advertising soon. I notice stl is pretty inactive on eccie.

Can anyone recommend the most commonly used sites for the STL area so I can start preparing for my trip? I would appreciate it!

Hope you enjoy STL. I think websites to check out for St. Louis are eccie, RTP, backpage. I would check out the downtown arch area, (broadway oyster bar, BB's), Forest Park, Delmar Loop area. Stay away from Maryland Heights (not escort friendly) and Imos pizza (it's horrible!)

Have to agree with staying in the Central West end area, or South County. Imo's is not that good. Cecil Whitaker's pizza isn't bad. If you like Italian, try Rich and Charlie's. If you stay in the Cetral West End you're close to Forest Park and the Zoo. World class zoo with no admission fee...that's right, free to go to it. Stay away from North St. Louis city and North St. Louis County. Can't recommend the east side either.
Wish there was more going on ECCIE...easiest site to use, IMO.

Central West End is good, Downtown, Chesterfield. Avoid Maryland Heights, Bridgeton and Kirkwood/Sunset Hills areas.

Pizza - Erio's - small hole in the wall by the airport off Woodson (Yummy!) but there is only two safe hotels over that way so PM me if you want

It is also close to Las Palmas which has amazing Mexican food.

Then there is just lots of fast food places around for the most part and chain restaurants.

If you are mobile you can go down the street to a little greasy spoon diner (its literally a counter and stools) and then pick up a concrete at Skeeters.

If you stay downtown my fave place is Caleco's - they have an extensive menu - a train that runs around the bar - plus you can catch sports on TV - open late (although I dont recommend wandering around late at night by yourself) and they have huge fish tanks. I have a few suggestions for safe hotels down there too.

If you stay in the Central West End there are plenty of places to eat and Coffee Cartel is open 24 hours.

Have a safe, fun stay in Saint Louis.

I've never noticed that much difference between Whitaker's and Imo's (to put it in Memphis terms, it's about the same practical no-difference that exists between The Bar-B-Q Shop and Central BBQ). Last I was staying downtown (Father's Day weekend; I got a great deal on the Hyatt Regency by the Old Courthouse thanks to Priceline) I didn't take your advice, I'm sorry to say. Wandering around downtown (by myself, though not late at night) I saw that I wasn't that far from Charlie Gitto's downtown, and I remembered from the last time I was there that the prices were reasonable and the lasagna (nature's most nearly perfect food) was excellent, so I visited there and verified that my memories were still accurate. (One of these days I'll hit Caleco's I suppose, though they've moved from where they were when I was last there).

Back when I was working downtown, Amighetti's used to have a shop just a bit west (on the same block, IIRC) as Calico's. I learned during my downtown wanderings that Amighetti's downtown has apparently gone to the great Italian Deli in the Sky... My next trip to STL I'm going to have to make a point of heading to the Hill and having an Amighetti's Special... It's been way too long since I've had that pleasure.

Hey BCG, you can try Gioias Deli on the hill as well. Right across the street from Yogi Berra Park. I recommend the hot salami sandwich.

Whitaker's/Imo's............almost clones IMHO! For sandwiches, two places I like away from the Hill or CWE would be Mom's Deli, on Jamieson av. east of Chippewa (Original Route 66) and LeGrand's Tomboy...Donovan av. west of Chippewa in St. Louis Hills. In between on Chippewa is Ted Drewes Frozen Custard....food of the gods! (eating local....I can walk to all 3 in minutes) Also, South Grand and the Delmar Loop have an incredible variety of places to eat.

I have never had my schedule clear to try it. I've heard the MUFFULETTA is pretty good.

It seems a bit weird to me to suggest that Imo's is subpar but Cecil Whitaker's is acceptable... but hey, it takes difference of opinion to make a horse race.

Now I've always wanted to visit there, mostly because I lived in the neighborhood as a boy (pre-HS), when that property was the neighborhood convenience store. (IIRC, Lindenwood Drugs was across Jamieson at the northwest(?) corner of Lansdowne and Jamieson (and if Google Maps is to be believed, still there)--I worked there briefly while I was in High School.) Walked by there many a time when I was in late grade and high school. Never went in. Is Tom Boy Stores still a thing?

Part of the ritual when I visit my daughter (in season, of course)... Daddy takes her to Red Lobster for dinner (her choice; take her lack of taste in seafood up with her, please) and then off to Drewes for dessert.

Oh, fuck, now I'm hungry. I may have to run up to St. Louis very soon (not next week, as I'm committed then, but maybe the week after?). The trouble is, now you all have me so food-oriented I'll have no money to play with one of my favorite STL providers while I'm there.

Seems to be a place that's opened up since I left the 'Lou. Looks very tempting, scanning the menu. Though I've sort of promised myself to have my first muffuletta at the Central Grocery in Nawlins, where the sandwich originated. Seems that there's enough other good stuff on the menu at Blues City that I won't be depriving myself if I wait on the muffuletta until I achieve that life's goal.

What is RTP? I am planning a tour in Chicago and not sure where to advertise. Is Eros a good place to advertise on for Chicago? There is no Chicago listed on here.

RTP stands for RateThatProvider which is hobby board based in St. Louis. It does have sections for Chicago and Kansas City too but almost all of the posts and reviews are St. Louis in nature. Just like any board it has its positive and negatives and proponents and detractors. If you become a "verified" provider on it you do get access to a ladies only section with information on the St. Louis scene.

There is a Chicago section on ECCIE though its not as busy as some sections.

If you are going to Chicago, definitely check out RoomService2000 for advertising and screening.
