My post focusing on the philosophy of Dom/sub play did not generate much discussion. Nevertheless, the comments received are appreciated.

I received a few requests for photos of my rope bondage work. I started the previous post intending to do that, but I could not, without first expressing my philosophy behind it. Having done that, I’ll move on and focus on rope bondage.

Rope bondage is a significant part of what I enjoy in Dom/sub play. The technique was really not terribly difficult to learn, it is not as complicated as it looks. I started by researching internet articles, looking for tutorial information. I also found a couple of books on the subject which were helpful. One warning: much of the bondage you see in Dom/sub porn is impractical, and just not safe. I made a few mistakes along the way attempting to reproduce some scenes I had observed. If you want to try this activity, start simply, learn what is safe and what is not, ignore most of what you see on porn sites, and be very sensitive to the comfort and safety of those you play with.

The photos below illustrate my work; while certainly not professional photos, they are all bondage I have done. I enjoyed creating the bondage shown, I hope you enjoy viewing it.

Well, yes, sometimes it takes a while. But, practice makes perfect. I am faster than I used to be. The complicated looking ones are built up with a series of more simple ties.

I enjoy bondage for several reasons. Some of it is just for the beauty of it. As I wrote elsewhere, starting with something as fundamentally beautiful as the female form, and then framing that beauty in artful rope work - I just enjoy it for its own sake. Some ties are more oriented toward positions for sex, while others are more about restrictive bondage to position the sub for impact play with paddles, floggers, etc.

But if it's a quick tie or a longer process - the enjoyment is intense in all cases. I never tire of practicing!

The lady you mention Doc, has given me permission to identify her; it is Shiloh, who does indeed visit SA from time to time. Also, I reviewed a session with Shiloh recently, on this forum, page 2 now I think. You may find it interesting, as the focus was Dom/sub play.

And cumalot, yes a wonderful canvas. As I have written elsewhere, I see bondage as simply framing the beauty of the female form in artful rope work. Some ties are all about beauty, some are for sex and some facilitate impact play. But all should be done (as I see it) with care to produce an attractive result - complimenting the woman, not detracting from her beauty.

And to DallasRain, the "sexy!!!" comment from one as sexy as you . . . I might begin to blush - nah, I'll just say thank you.

Bravo, engineer! You're an artist. The proof of the pudding (so to speak) is in the last photo, where the impressions of your bonds remain on her tender flesh. I can imagine her struggling againt those bonds, and can imagine how arousing that was.
